March 31st, 1944 - August 20th, 2021

The family announces with great sorrow the unexpected passing of Jeff on Friday August 20th, 2021 at the Timmins and District Hospital. Cherished husband of the late Annette (née Docherty) Smerek. Loving father of  Elizabeth and Stephanie (J.F.).  Devoted grandfather of Jeffrey  and Kathleen (Alex) Survived by the new love of his life Linda Dick. He will greatly missed his  blonde girlfriend Marin. Jeff leaves behind his siblings, Alan Smerek (Barbara), Neil Smerek (Linda),  Gwen Third (Barry) and by his brother -in -law Donald (Ann) Docherty and sister-in-law Gail Smerek. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased his parents Nicholas & Evelyn Smerek and by his brother James Smerek. He will missed by all who knew him. Jeff was known in the community for many different things, his jokes, his humour  and most of all for his heart. He was a member of many service groups, such as Young Eagles, Kinsmen, Spruce Hill Lodge and a great supporter of the Special  Olympics. 

Donations to the TDH Foundation or the  Young Eagles Lloyd Richards Chapter will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

The family will receive friends  on Thursday August 26th, 2021 from  2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce avenue, South Porcupine, ON, P0N1H0 (705)235-2900 www.stinsonfuneralhome.net

A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.
