The family announces with sorrow her passing on Monday, April 12th, 2021 at Spruce Hill Lodge. Beloved wife of the late Paul Sillanpaa (1976). Loving mother of Paula (Jim) Hoggett and Nils Sillanpaa. Cherished Gram of Paul Hoggett, Amy (Chris) Hedley, Maija Hoggett, Anna Liisa (Adam) Eaton, Kayla (Lisa) Sillanpaa, Kristen (Shane) Smith and Great-Gram of Isabella, Alexander, Gabriel, Liam, Penelope, Blake, Presley and Kolton. She will be sadly missed by her cousins Linda Lawrence of Timmins, and Virpi & Paivi of Finland. She was predeceased by her parents Yrjo & Agda Santaharju and by her mother-in-law Sylvia Sillanpaa & father-in-law Bill Sillanpaa. Eila was a medical secretary for many years and owned Merri May Tots to Teens in South Porcupine before retiring.

She was extensively involved in the Porcupine United Church and volunteering at the Spruce Hill Lodge, of which she made it her home. Donations will be gratefully acknowledged by the family to either Porcupine United Church or Spruce Hill Lodge.
