Dale O'Malley Obituary

In Loving Memory of

O’Malley, Dale Ann

1940-2021

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden and unexpected, but peaceful  passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and beloved GG, Dale Ann O’Malley at her new residence in Porcupine on June 30th, 2021.  Dale was known for her quick wit, her sense of humour, her keen memory, her culinary skills and her love for her favourite soap operas, the Y&R and B & B.  She was an avid curler, spending many fun times with her close friends bonspieling at the Dome Mines Curling Club. Many summers were spent camping, making pie irons and barring skunks from the dining tent.  Many great memories were made at both the family home in South Porcupine and at the cottage on Mattagami Lake  and later, in her retirement from Tisdale Bus Lines, at their home on Kenogami Lake.  She was the rock in our family who got us through many of life’s challenges. She was the glue that held us together, the pillar that never waivered. Always a realist, she was our strong supporter and integral to all the fond memories we will hold forever in our hearts. She spent many hours in the arenas in both Timmins and Kirkland Lake to watch her grandchildren figure skate; play hockey; or ringette. She was a huge fan of tennis, a love she shared with her youngest brother Matt (Butch).  She mastered use of her iPad after threatening to throw it in the lake on several occasions and this brought her great pleasure and allowed her to stay connected with her family and especially with her great grandsons Grant & Rhys, her pride and joy during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dale was predeceased by her parents Olga and Mathew Danchuk; her in-laws Hughie and Irene O’Malley; her sister-in-laws Catherine Danchuk and Mary Champagne and brother-in-laws, Ray Lacarte and Marcel Champagne. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 yrs, Patrick; her two daughters Kelly (Kevin) Osmars and Kathy (Jim) McLenaghan of whom she was so proud; her cherished grandchildren Kerah (Rob) Gethin; Krysta (Ivan) Bernier; Marisa McLenaghan and Jed McLenaghan; her special great grandsons Grant Bernier & Rhys Gethin.  She also leaves behind her much loved brothers Danny (Nina) Danchuk and Matt (Delee) Danchuk as well as her sister-in-law, Diane Lacarte and her brother-in-law Cleve (Janet) O’Malley. She will be fondly remembered by Karen MacGregor as well as her many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later date once COVID restrictions are eased. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Food Allergy Canada through the Stinson Funeral Home, South Porcupine , Ontario 705-235-2900
