August 10, 1956 – January 14, 2023

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved matriarch, Ann Marie Campsall at the age of 66 after an extremely hard-fought battle to cancer.  She died peacefully at home with family by her side. She was comfortable and surrounded by love until her last breath.

Ann is survived and will always be lovingly remembered and cherished by her beloved life partner Helmut Busch who she always called her husband and her four children: Athena (Jonathan) Kreiner of Thunder Bay, Jason (Crystal) Lefevre, Melissa (Aaron) Plouffe and Jeffrey Lefevre (Alisha Burr), all of Timmins. 

Her nine grandchildren, who affectionately call her “GANNY”, were her pride and joy Kayla (Brady), Jared, Jacob, Jayden, Jorden, Alyssa, Wade, Hailey and Karlina will miss her beyond words. Ann was extremely excited to hear the news of her first great-grandchild that is due to arrive in April. While it is heartbreaking that she will never get to see her, Ganny’s memory will be kept alive and shared with Bexley for years to come.

Ann also leaves behind her sister Christine Beaudry, her cousins Joanne and Patricia Melville, Michele Rondeau Alblas, and Ann Corris, her sister in-laws Dorothy (Manuel) and Renate, her brother in-law Paul, her nieces Carolyn and Hope, her nephews Jamie, Mark (Cary) and Paul (Annette), step-son Matthew Busch (Jennifer), her great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many loving and dear friends who have known her for decades; Debbie and Eddy Miller, Ron and Murielle Lepine, Sue and Harvey Gagnon, Richard & Linda and many more.

Ann Marie was predeceased by her parents John Henry Campsall and Margaret (Melville) Campsall, her brother Raymond Campsall, her Grandparents Francis and Margaret (Moore) Melville, her Aunt Diane (Gordon), Aunt Jo (Frank), Aunt Lilian (Wilfrid), Uncle Francis (Rolande), brother-in-law Ray Beaudry, and cousin Susan Smith Blocker.

Ann Marie was born and raised in Timmins. She devoted her life to her family and was always there when any one of them needed help, no questions asked. She would drop everything to be there for them and they were always her number one priority.

Family was extremely important to Ann Marie. She had a very loving and close relationship with her brother Raymond and would spend every Sunday with him. She would pick him up and take him shopping, usually for a wallet or watch, and then bring him home for supper. She was his rock and was always there for him.

Ganny loved spending time with her grandchildren whenever she could and did her own special thing with each of them. She would spoil all of them and never played favourites. Whenever she bought something for one of them, she would have to buy something for the other 8! She loved watching their sporting events and was their #1 cheerleader. If she couldn’t be there in person, she loved watching games and events online and would be cheering them on from her couch.

Ann Marie also had a very special and loving relationship with her cousins. She looked forward to their annual cousins trip that would take them to places such as Niagara region for wine tours, Florida, Blue Mountain and Quebec and she even won the Ping Queen crown (which she and Joanne made) for her excellent card play. She would look forward to their Facetime calls together every second Sunday. They will all miss her dearly. Ann Marie had also had a special relationship with her Uncle Frank, who was like a father figure to her, and always enjoyed the time she spent with him.

Ann Marie was a stay-at-home Mom until her youngest child went to school and then she began working at Marc’s Metro grocery store, later known as Levis’ Foodland. She was a dedicated employee who was soon promoted to Manager of the Bakery Department and she worked there for 16 years before retiring.

Ann loved the outdoors and spent her summers camping every day she could with her young family. She was always active and kept busy with four children. Later in life, her and Helmut loved spending time in the back forties walking and sitting by the bonfire with nature watching the birds and wildlife.

Along with her family, Helmut was the best thing to ever happen to Ann Marie. Their friendship grew and kindled into something more special and serious, and they have loved each other ever since. Helmut showered her with love, kindness,  and respect and always took such great care of her all the time and was there for her day and night whenever she needed him.

Ann was famous for always finding a sale when she went shopping. She would never buy anything at full price and would always come home so proud of all the deals she would get. Whenever she went to Thunder Bay to visit, she would have to borrow 1-2 suitcases to bring back all the treasured bargins she got. She loved spending quality time with her friends, whether it be having coffee, going out for lunch, shopping, going to the casino or playing Bingo she would always have fun.  And she was lucky whenever she did go to the casino. She always gave herself a $20 limit (sometimes $40) and most of the time would always leave with more in her pocket.

Ann Marie also worked at Busch Jewellers for many years and loved helping customers and being social. She was always friendly and enjoyed her job. We think she spent most of her pay cheques at the store…which was okay because she probably got everything on sale!

Ann’s sense of humour was well known to her family and friends. She would make “Ganny” jokes that were so corny, you just had to laugh! She was cracking jokes and making everyone laugh with her one-liners right until the end.

Ann Marie was the most selfless, strong, positive, happy, funny, cheerful, energetic, kind spirited, caring, loving, warm, generous, hopeful woman with the biggest heart and if you were lucky enough to know her, you knew just how special and one-of-a-kind she really was.

The family would like to thank Dr. Pearce from the Northeast Cancer Centre in Sudbury who treated our mom for over four years. He was always kind and compassionate to her and answered our numerous questions. We would also like to thank Marnie Chisholm, Nurse Practitioner and Liz Feldman, Nurse from Bayshore, who took extremely great care of our mom during the past few years of her illness and are grateful they were always there for her and our family when needed.

A Celebration of Life for Ann Marie will be held on Friday, January 20 at Stinson Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation for the Oncology Program would be appreciated by the family.

You will always be our Sunshine. Rest in peace now. You fought hard right until the end and defied all the odds. We are proud of you, admire your strength and blessed to have had you as our Mother and Ganny. We know you are walking in a field of sunflowers with butterflies fluttering around you. You were always there for us and we know that you will now be our Guardian Angel watching over us from above. We love you lots and lots. Xoxo
